Many
municipalities and tracks have begun to implement new, tougher regulations
that limit the sound output of street bikes, offroad cycles and ATVs. In the
interest of health & safety and of maintaining good relationships between
riders and the non-riding community, Two Brothers Racing has developed a
series of highly effective sound reducing tips which can help everyone to
get along.
P1 PowerTip™ sound
suppressor is a recommended accessory for our exhaust systems with M series
end caps. A straight-through sound diffuser, the PowerTip™ quiets the pipe
to about 2-3 dB with no significant reduction in horsepower. Not recommended
for use with a spark arrestor screen.
The P3 is designed to
be used with the supplied spark arrestor screens in our Stainless/Aluminum
ATV & MX exhaust systems. A straight-through sound diffuser, the P3
PowerTip™quiets most pipes between 6-8 dB with only a minimal loss of
horsepower. An easy and cost effective method of helping to keep your
vehicle in compliance with new noise regulations. Easy to install - simply
unbolt your existing M series endcap, drop in the P3 and reassemble.
Note: Due to potential heat build-up, the P3 is not intended for use with
our Titanium or Carbon Fiber ATV & MX muffler canisters or the Rhino 660
exhaust system.
The P4 PowerTip™ was
developed to fill the gap between the P1 and P3 sound reducing tips. The P4
is less restrictive than our P3 but quieter than the P1, reducing sound
output between 3-5 dB on most pipes. Power loss is minimal. Not recommended
for use with a spark arrestor screen.
Like all of our other sound suppressors, the P4 is very easy to install -
simply unbolt your existing M-7 endcap, drop in the P4 and reassemble.
ATV/MX M-7 V.A.L.E.
Exhaust Systems: Our U.S. Forestry Service approved Spark Arrester is
included with all M-7 V.A.L.E. stainless/aluminum offroad exhaust systems.
These tips prevent broadcasting sparks with no appreciable loss of
horsepower. Additionally this tip prevents the introduction of foreign
matter into the exhaust system.
Road M-2/M-5 Exhaust Systems: Optional sound dampening "Diffuser Tip" which
mutes the exhaust tone slightly with absolutely no loss of horsepower.
Additionally this tip prevents the introduction of foreign matter into the
exhaust system.
*This screen only fits the M-2, M-5 & M-7 mufflers. It DOES NOT fit, nor is
it intended to be used with the C2, C4 or C5 mufflers
We recommend
inspecting your muffler after every 2-3 hours of operation for loose
hardware just as you would on the rest of your motorcycle and repacking your
MX or ATV muffler canister every 10 hours of operation. By doing this you
will maximize the life of your Two Brothers Racing canister.
